Let me start with a little bit of background. I grew up in a home where both parents did a Shaklee business. Yes, BOTH. I feel as if I was spoiled at a young age to have BOTH of my parents able to be THERE. No matter what the activity (school, cross country, track, church event, vacation, etc) my parents were able to be there. WHY? Because they were their own boss and set their own schedule. So, growing up, I always LOVED that.
I went to Bethel and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, because I had a passion for children, but REALLY I knew all along that I had one TRUE goal in life- and that was to be a mom. But, it is the "right thing to do" to go to college and get a degree. I don't regret that decision because I grew up a lot at college, met some amazing people, and found my life partner! I taught for 2 years and enjoyed MOST of it, although I could have done without all the "extras." Any teacher reading this knows what I mean by that- the tests, paperwork, meetings, etc. It quickly became not all about the kids and more about the "extras" of the job, and I began liking it less and less.
Then Kyle and I were blessed with having 2 children, 16 months apart. They are our world, and because of this, I knew I wanted to stay at home and raise them myself! I didn't want a babysitter to tell me about their first word or first step, I wanted to witness it myself. However, with Kyle being a teacher as well, we knew that one teacher income wasn't going to cut it, so we began looking at options. I remember MANY nights of discussions where I was told that I was going to have to go back to work, and I would cry myself to sleep, not wanting to leave my babies.
So, why do I do what I do? These are the two reasons:
After a lot of prayer and looking at limited options, we heard about Shaklee's new compensation plan that was launched in August of 2010. We NEVER questioned the quality of the products, and had been using them for years, both with me growing up, and with Kyle and I after we got married. But, we weren't sure that the compensation plan would fit us. But, with the new plan, offering things like and EXTRA $34,000 in cash bonuses within the first 15 months, multiple free trips, and a new car, we couldn't help but take a serious look! We quickly knew that this was for us.
Why we chose Shaklee?
1. We already LOVED the products!
2. We were passionate about sharing the products with the people we cared about
because of the great benefits.
3. We saw a visionary leader in CEO Roger Barnett that cast a vision SO LARGE for
this company, and a dream to be the Largest Force for Positive Social Change!
4. We knew it wasn't a scam company, paying over $6 Billion to date and being around
for over 55 years, not to mention being the Gold Standard for product quality!
5. We REALLY needed a new car :)
6. We REALLY wanted to be able to travel to exotic places, and not pay for it!
7. We REALLY wanted to do something together as a family, all while making a
difference and helping others do the same.
8. We had no other option!
So, thus started our journey with Shaklee. What a ride! It has been amazing to see the joy of this business not only encourage our hearts, but also to see others capture that same spirit. We have had SO much fun meeting new people and reuniting with old friends! We have seen this business offer many rewards and blessings. We were able to travel to San Fransisco in May over our anniversary for an all expense paid trip, got our new van in April, and are SO looking forward to our trip in November to the Bahamas! But, more than anything we have received ourselves, the greatest blessings have come from helping others find relief to health issues due to the products, or people earning even an extra few hundred dollars a month to insure they can pay the bills. It is a BIGGER difference that we love. We can't and won't ever receive anything from Shaklee until we help someone else! And that is our commitment! Our passion is to see moms be able to stay at home with their kids if they so desire, dads to not have to work 2nd and 3rd jobs to support their families, families get back to VAcations instead of STAYcations, families be changed by the power of healthy products, and to help others learn the value of preventing health problems instead of fighting to get their health back when it is too late! We have a passion and a desire that God has given us to help others! And we don't take that mission lightly. We are always looking for the needs of others and to see who God would lead us to help next!!
So in a few words, Shaklee has been a TRUE blessing, and one that has changed the course of our family's future forever!
