First of all, our fence is finished!! (all except 2 gates) We are VERY happy with the result and think it looks really nice! We were not planning on putting up a new fence, but when a storm this summer took down a large side of it, we thought we might as well! So, with the help of family and friends, it is done (almost) and we are SO GLAD!! Thanks to all who helped!
My little handy man!!
The kids really enjoyed all the extra outside time "helping with the fence!" Payton would get SO EXCITED to hear who was coming over to help, and would BEG me to get her ready to go outside! They loved every second!
This last weekend we also had quite a show outdoors, as the Elkhart Airport had an airshow. Since we live near the airport, we got to see everything, and the kids thought it was SO FUN! Payton would just start yelling "PLANES!!!!!!!!!" and start running around! And, we saw the GOODYEAR Blimp multiple times, AKA, "Big Balloon!!"
You know, as a mom, you always want your kids to get along, and lately I have just been praying that my kids will grow up to love each other and be buds! They sure have their moments, where they fight, wrestle, take toys, hit, cry, and get mad at each other. But, I have also seen moments lately where they have been SO sweet to each other! They will kiss and hug each other and then just giggle afterwards! And today, we took Bubba to the doctor for his 15 month check up. He is one healthy boy, but the part that just made my heart smile was the concern that Payton had for her Bubba when he was about to get his shots. She has never been in the room when he has gotten shots before (Either Kyle or my mom would be with us and take her out so she wouldn't freak out) but today, I was on my own. So, when the nurse came in, Payton started to cry- she was worried for her Bubby! Then I told her that she had to be strong for him and help mommy take care of him and she was SO CUTE! He would cry and she just kept saying "It's Ok Bubby, It's ok!" She was so sweet! She can be a sweet little girl, just a stinker at other times! :)
I have also came to a tough realization lately that my kids are getting SO BIG! :( This is hard for mommy to swallow, but I just love every new stage they grow into! Payton is into leaving her hair down lately (sometimes wearing a headband) which gives her a whole new look, and one that makes her look so grown up!!
And Ethan is my baby, but he is so far from that! He is such a little boy! He is talking SO much more lately and learning new things, but still enjoys cuddling with his mommy! :)
Kyle has had some long days at school lately, and I can't wait until we can have him quit teaching and stay home full time! I feel so bad when I hear the stresses he goes through on a daily basis, but know he is making such a big difference in the kids he works with. I am so proud of him! But, I think his favorite time of the day is coming home, and having his kids run into his arms! They get SO excited to see their daddy, and he loves when they want to snuggle with him!
And finally, tonight I had one of those "happy mommy moments" while putting the kids to bed. I love taking Payton to bed, because we read a book, pray, and sing (multiple) songs that she has learned in Sunday School/Bible Study. But tonight, Bubba followed us into her room and laid down with Payton in her bed! So...I read to them both!! I read the book "Guess How Much I Love You" and it just melted my heart having both of my monkeys listening in! Then we prayed and sang! And best of all, they ended with giving each other multiple kisses! I didn't want it to end...except that I needed them to go to bed! :)
It's been a good week, with lots of things to be grateful for!
