I talk to people ALL THE TIME that have a stereotype about Network Marketing. Usually these people have been taken advantage of, lost money, or know someone who did in a network marketing company.
But, what really is "Network Marketing?" Well, I see it as.... sharing a good thing with the people you care about, and then those people share it, and those people share it, etc. But, let me tell you, there are a LOT of scams out there! There are so many promises, and not many fulfilled. There is a lot of money "talked about" but not much paid out. There are promises, promises, promises..... But, just because you had a bad experience in one company, does that mean that ALL Network Marketing Companies are bad? Well, have you ever gone out to eat and had HORRIBLE service or food? Did you stop going out to eat all together after that, because "all restaurants" must be that bad? Probably not. You might not have gone back to that SAME restaurant again, but probably didn't give up on the dining industry all together. The same can be true with Network Marketing....
So, how do you know that you aren't getting scammed? DO YOUR RESEARCH! It is scary and SCAMS are real. It is really sad that there are companies out there that ONLY care about making a quick buck and they don't care how they do it. Many companies promise a lot, but until you get deep into it, you don't realize how much effort, time, and money you will put out to receive NOTHING in return. Do NOT get involved in one of these companies. Do your research before jumping into ANYTHING. Don't just jump at the first offer or the first "good promise" but rather seek out the opinions of others that have been involved in the company. You learn a lot from people that have gone before you!
So, let me answer the TOP FOUR most common questions I get about Shaklee:
1. Is Shaklee a SCAM?
The simple answer is NO. Shaklee has been around for over 55 years and has paid out over $6 BILLION to people like you and me just for sharing the products. My parents have done his business for over 38 years, and this is ALL they do. They have made over $1.8 Million in this company. So, you tell me, does that sound like a scam to you?
2. Is Shaklee a Pyramid Scheme?
Let me answer this question by drawing your attention to....well corporate America. Look at ANY business, the government, or even your local church.... if you draw out the structure of those that are in charge, doesn't it resemble the shape of a pyramid? For example, let's take a church. Don't you have a "Sr. Pastor" and then other pastors, deacons, board members, etc.... if you draw it out on a piece of paper, of who reports to who....you will in essence draw a pyramid structure. However, what do people mean when they ask this question? Well normally they mean....doesn't the select few that are lucky enough to be at the "top" reap all the benefits of those that are at the bottom and doing all the work? Well let me explain. That is an "Illegal Pyramid", where everyone at the top makes all the money, and those at the bottom make NOTHING, as well as the fact that you can never rise above whoever is above you in the company. That makes up 98% of all Network Marketing Companies. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT how Shaklee works- they fall in the other 2%. Those at the VERY bottom of Shaklee are earning on average $800-900 a month and receiving an all expense paid trip to San Fransisco to the World Headquarters of the company. Those that help just ONE person start their own business are qualifying for a FREE car credit as well! And those are the people "at the bottom." Sure, those that rise to other ranks by sharing with more people, will make more money, but you can't tell me that those that are just starting out are complaining too much about an extra $800 in their bank account each month, for just sharing products that have helped them and their family become healthier!! :) And, with Shaklee, you are helped by those around and above you, but not limited to their success! So, you can rise to any level you want, with your own effort, no matter if the person that introduced you to Shaklee does or not!
3. Is Shaklee a "Get Rich Quick Scheme?"
No. You can make a substantial amount of money in Shaklee, and you can do so VERY QUICKLY, but it is all based off of effort. You can do this business fast or you can do it slow. You can make weekly bonuses as well as month bonuses. You WILL make money, but ONLY if you help other people. That is why I get so passionate about this business. I have to help YOU before I make anything, not step all over you to advance myself. Isn't that what life is all about? So, if someone does NOT make money in Shaklee, it is solely based off of their effort. Failure in this business is based on YOU! What you put into it, you will get out!
4. Is Shaklee just like "XYZ" Company?
Well, let me start by saying: this is a hard question to answer without personally talking to you about what company you are comparing to Shaklee, AND, I have never been involved in any other Network Marketing Company, although have done my research on quite a few. All I can say is this...remember I talked about the fact that there are a LOT of scams out there... well, chances are, if you are asking this question, you have possibly come in contact with one such company. I get the question all the time if we are just like "A" or "M" company, and all I can say is what I hold to with Shaklee. Shaklee's compensation plan WORKS. Shaklee has NOTHING to hide. Shaklee will stand behind it's word. Shaklee puts more research and development into their products than ANY other company, hands down. Shaklee's products REALLY DO WORK and they have never had ANYTHING recalled in over 55 years, since the beginning! AND, Shaklee will NOT send you products you don't want and charge you!!! That is all I have to say about that! :)
(I would LOVE to have a personal conversation with anyone that wonders about the differences in some companies!
So, bottom line, if you are looking to start your own business, do your research! I even tell people that about Shaklee. RESEARCH if this is a company that you could get excited and passionate about. RESEARCH if the products have ANY proof of positive effect on you and your family. RESEARCH if the compensation plan holds up and sticks to it's word. Don't just take my word or anyone else's word....RESEARCH. Otherwise you could make a VERY expensive decision that could have LASTING effects on your family!
